Another instance of my short attention span, my obliviousness to surrondings and ignorance to reality. While ironing my uniform this morning, i was straightening the sleeve with my left hand, while i was still holding the iron in my right. while i was pulling the sleeve, i just ironed it over instantly without even looking or thinking twice. I ironed the sleeve as expected, and even ironed over my left thumb. It took me a few seconds to register what i did, by the time its too late. By the time i pulled away my finger, almost the whole left portion of my left thumb was burnt. Worse still, i burnt the joint section and now unable to move my thumb.The pain was only instataneous after contact. I didn't know what to do next. I just cooled my finger under running water and went to school as if nothing happened. But on the way it began to hurt and the mark getting more obvious. So i told Ms Fong about it, and she sent me to office, applied the cream and gauze over it.
It didn't really help when i forgot to bring my maths lecture notes and sat throughout the lecture clueless. On a bright note, GohTat Chuan came to IJ as part of the pursuit of passion programme and at least get to hear him talk in front of us in person. In the end it became a story telling and sharing experience session.
